Along with the shelter, this 8 acre park offers a vast array of recreational opportunities, including a paved and soft-surface trail, playground, restrooms, and non-motorized boat launch.

Directions from downtown Knoxville: Go south from downtown across the Gay Street Bridge; follow Sevier Avenue to the left; turn left onto Dixie Street; turn right onto Waterfront Drive and follow it into the parking lot.

Interested parties are encouraged to visit that park before booking and before the event to make sure the shelter meets your needs and amenities are usable, if desired.

Rental Info:
The Suttree Landing Park picnic shelter features 6 tables. There are electrical outlets, a playground nearby, a greenway, and a non-motorized boat launch nearby. The shelter and park amenities are available "as is". Grass is mowed on a 2-week schedule. Restrooms are serviced and garbage is picked up multiple times per week. As no staff is on site, we can not guarantee the conditions when you arrive. We encourage groups to bring cleaning supplies, toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags, etc.

All renters must abide by all terms & conditions established by the City of Knoxville as well as City Ordinances. The Department of Parks and Recreation in conjunction with the local authorities reserves the right to terminate any event if the activities are deemed unlawful or harmful. Reservation guidelines broken may result in the immediate cancellation and/or forfeiture of any fees paid.

KPRD requires reservation requests to be submitted at least 3 days in advance and no more than 30 days in advance. Please make sure to bring a copy of your receipt in case there are others using this area when you arrive. If problems persist, please call 911.

If shelter is reserved within 3-7 days of the event, a reservation sign may not be posted on the reservation board at the park.

Most rentals are for birthday parties, baby showers, wedding showers, family reunions, company outings, etc. Please contact KPRD if your event may be considered a “special event”. “Special Events” require the person or group renting the facility to provide a Certificate of Insurance covering the City of Knoxville. Please contact KPRD at (865) 215-1733 for more information. Failure to inform KPRD and provide insurance coverage for the event if ANY of the following are true will result in immediate cancellation of the event and no refund will be given:
o Over 100 people are expected to attend
o The event is raising funds or charging fees for entry (at the door or to participate)
o Wedding and/or wedding reception

PROHIBITED ITEMS / ACTIVITIES
• No alcoholic beverages or drugs allowed at park
• No inflatables (also known as “bounce houses”) unless approved by KPRD & Risk Management. Approval requires proper insurance and notarized Inflatable Disclosure Statement.
• No loud music or music with offensive language
• No setting up tents or canopies
• No activities that will damage the shelter, park, common area, etc. more than normal wear & tear.

Please place all trash in trash receptacles and recyclables in recycling containers
• INCLUDE IN RECYCLING:
Plastic containers, Metal cans, Clean paper & Cardboard
• DO NOT INCLUDE IN RECYCLING: Plastic bags, Chip Bags, Paper plates, Napkins, Glass, Food
Rules:
* Must be at least 18 years old in order to rent this facility.
* Must give us at least 3 days notice in order to rent this facility. The first date you will be allowed to rent is 6/12/2023 . Reservations after 11:59 PM today will require an additional day.
* You can only rent this facility 30 days in advance. You will not be allowed to rent this facility for any date past 7/9/2023 .
